About Us

This page is set up for those of us who grew up in New Orleans in simpler times,
though any New Orleanian or anyone from anywhere else is welcome as well.  The other matters
that are written about on this site are transferrable for anyone, in anyplace,..... anytime.

They are everlasting.

For now why not take a stroll below into our memorable New Orleans experience
and listen to the familiar music while checking out the pictures.

For our culturally unfamiliar friends who've chosen to visit I trust that you can appreciate
a little nostalgia as well as the tunes.

We are New Orleanian to the core, born and bred -- here till we're dead.

We've discovered something remarkable.  And like Christ's statement about the person in the one-sentence parable in Matthew 13:44 (New Testament) we're still pumped up about it years later.

This site is an extension of what we each have personally discovered on life's journey.   It is not associated with or governed by any church, pastor or denomination.  We are, however, in convoy with many millions of others across the world who have discovered it as well.

We are hard-working family folk.   We are from here and if you are too we grew up like you.   We grew up on Barq's, Blue Plate, gumbo, Crystal Preserves, po-boys, Dr. Tichenor, Morgus, redbeans and rice, Schwegmann's, Bordens, Pete Fountain, Fats, and Ernie K-Doe, Flying Horses, Pontchartrain Beach, crawfish, crabs,  and carnival.   We knew the place corner grocery stores, community churches and schools, and neighborhood barrooms had in our culture.

We've discovered that there is a place of ongoing engagement with the Living God.   Jesus the Living Christ spoke of this constantly, coaxing His followers toward His Father.   And this arresting theme cries out from the pages of your Bible.

Though all of this is not rocket science it is something like open-heart surgery.

Check out 'A Local's Story' Button on top.    Does the experience of the New Orleanian there connect with you in any way?

"Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you do not know."

What has your personal interaction with God been like through the years?

"My times are in Your Hand....."

Psalm 31:15

If God is real and alive, and cares for you, why not talk with Him right now?

Are you afraid of Him?  Are you mad at Him?

"All things are permissible for me, but I will not be mastered by any thing."

Paul the Apostle, I Corinthians 6:12

We have many fond memories don't we?

But what happened to our culture?

What happened to our world?

What happened to our kids and grandkids?

  What happened to us?

Many of us walked these sidewalks.

We have experienced the native New Orleans places and things in the pictures below growing up....

and the music loaded on this page.

Maybe you sometimes wondered  about life, eternity, and about your relationship with God growing up in our culture.

In your everyday life what part did God play in how you looked at and treated others?

What have you made sure has come first for you in life?

Octavia and Laurel (below).  Many of us recall the good old days when times were simpler.  Broussards Grocery is pictured here with Ace's Elbow Rest on the right.  Are there times you wish for somethings to be different today?  Has life turned out different than you thought it would when you were growing up?
